When You’re in the Overwhelm



Sometimes it’s ok to be over-whelmed.

First, take a breath.

Now listen to your inner voice.

Let go of should and allow yourself to bloom.


My favorite way to help my children when they feel overwhelmed is to get them to take three deep breaths. Once they are calmed down enough, we head over to my oils and they can smell them to see which ones they would like to put in the diffuser or just have a drop on their hands to breathe in. Honestly, by the time they are done picking one they have already experienced the benefits of the oil’s aromatic properties and are running off to continue their day.

When I am overwhelmed I take three deep breaths.  I get overwhelmed easily being a Highly Sensitive Person, so I start my day with a grounding blend of essential oils and then choose another supportive oil depending on what my day holds. At night I have found a calming and grounding blend in my diffuser provides me with the best continuous sleep. And we all know that a good night sleep can do wonders for how we handle the next day.
